Jimmy Lazzara is a recognized leader in industrial product sales with a legacy that spans decades of innovation, distribution excellence, and market leadership. He began his career at Scientific Technologies Inc. (STI), where he played a pivotal role in building the company alongside his father, Anthony Lazzara. After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1979 with a degree in Natural Resource Management and Forestry, Jimmy joined STI as both Sales Manager and Purchasing Manager, helping the company rise to become North America's market share leader in safety automation products.

His leadership and vision earned him the role of Senior Vice President, where he oversaw global sales and built one of the strongest and most loyal distribution networks in the industry. Jimmy’s philosophy — reward those who do the work, protect those who perform the job — became the backbone of STI’s success. Under his guidance, STI expanded through strategic acquisitions including Datricon, STI/Environecs, AET Products, and Lundahl Instruments, now known as APGSensors.

In 2006, STI was acquired by Omron, a global Japanese automation control manufacturer, with sales nearing $75 million. Jimmy was the second-largest shareholder at the time of the sale — a testament to his impact and leadership.

After retiring, Jimmy continued to shape the industry. He worked briefly in contract manufacturing before being recruited by Cal Industrial Sales to drive regional growth. His deep expertise and unwavering loyalty to distribution earned him legendary status among manufacturers, reps, and customers alike.

Eventually relocating to Florida, Jimmy joined L-3 as a Sales Engineer before founding Omni2Controls, his own independent distributorship. Today, Omni2Controls reflects Jimmy’s lifelong commitment to technical excellence, customer service, and trusted partnerships — representing top-tier brands in enclosures, controls, circuit protection, sensing, and predictive technologies.
